/ Subscribing to a Calendar
You can subscribe to a calendar published on this site (e.g. church calendar) and view it in Google Calendar, iCal, your mobile phone, or any calendar software that reads ICS files.
Subscribing With Google Calendar
Step 1: Copy the subscription link.
When you view a calendar on the website, you will see a subscription link below it.
Right click on the link and you should see an option to copy it. The option may be worded differently depending on the browser you're using.
Step 2: Subscribe to the calendar in Google Calendar
Log into your Google Calendar account (http://calendar.google.com). Locate the area on the left side of the screen that says "Other calendars."
Click on the link that says "Add" and click on "Add by URL."
Paste the link into the "Add by URL" popup.
Click on the "Add Calendar" button. Now your the Living Way calendar should appear on your Google Calendar.
You may change the color of the calendar to suite your taste.
Subscribing With iCal
Step 1: Copy the subscription link.
When you view a calendar on the website, you will see a subscription link below it.
Right click on the link and you should see an option to copy it. The option may be worded differently depending on the browser you're using.
Step 2: Subscribe to the calendar in iCal
Open iCal, go to the "Calendar" menu and click on "Subscribe..."
Paste the link into the field.
Click on the "Subscribe" button. You will now see a dialog where you can configure your calendar settings.
Make any necessary changes, like color, and click the "OK" button. Now the Living Way calendar should display in iCal.
Subscribing With a Blackberry Phone
Blackberry phones can only subscribe to external calendars through Google Calendar using the Google Sync app. Before following these directions, please subscribe with a Google Calendar account first using the instructions above.
Step 1: Download the Google Sync app
Go to http://www.google.com/mobile/sync to download the Google Sync app. Install it onto your phone.
Step 2: Open Google Sync
To use Google Sync, click the Google Sync icon on the home screen of your BlackBerry. Alternatively you can open the calendar application on your BlackBerry and click the thumb wheel once to pop up the menu. You'll find the "Google Sync" entry at the top of the menu.
Step 3: Activate other calendars
By default, Google Sync will only download events for your main Calendar. To synchronize additional calendars, you can select them on the 'Google Sync > Options' screen. The Living Way calendar should now show on your Blackberry.
Subscribing With an iPhone
Step 1: Copy the subscription link.
Open Safari on your phone and navigate to the calendar on the Living Way site that you want to subscribe to. You will see a subscription link below it.
Tap and hold onto the link. Tap the "Copy" button.
Step 2: Add the calendar in Settings
- Press the home button on your phone. Tap the "Settings" icon.
- Tap on "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
- Scroll down and tap on "Add Account..."
- Tap on "Other"
- Tap on "Add Subscribed Calendar"
- Tap onto the server field and tap again until the "Paste" popup appears. Tap on "Paste." Then tap on the "Next" button.
- After the calendar is verified, you will see some settings on the next screen. Click on the "Save" button. The calendar is now viewable in the Calendar app on your phone.
